I love the Filene’s in Boston!  I’ve found some amazing deals there and since things get cheaper as the days pass it’s fun to hide and find the gems wink

Well Justin, you will have to wait to go again.  After evil Macy’s bought May Co., the parent of Filene’s (and of course Field’s) they decided to close this store as there is a Macy’s across the street.

Even though Filene’s Basement is a separate company than Filene’s, the sale of the building and its renovation has caused the flagship location to close, with the plan to reopen when the whole building does.  There’s a Basement store on Newbury Street in Boston, but it is not the same.

This photo is of what was the first floor of the main Filene’s store.  The Basement store moved up from the basement of the building in its final days.

At least we will have memories…

At least those memories are positive. Filene’s basement always offered great sales and I never went there unless I knew a sale was going on.
